Tree Frog

• Gray Treefrogs are small to medium sized frogs reaching lengths of about 2 inches.
• An individual frog can be gray or green, or various shades of brown.
• The gray treefrog is found in the northern two-thirds of Ohio.
• Tree frogs are nocturnal and spend most of the time in trees and small shrubs.
• Their call has woodpecker-like sound.
• The gray treefrog produces glucose, or sugar, and "freeze" themselves for the winter.
• They are one of the last frogs to come out in the spring.
